Many instructors have discovered, created, or substantially improved a teaching strategy as they teach and develop their courses. One feature that separates scholarly teaching from the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) is the dissemination of your ideas to a wider audience. In this session, we will review a few active learning techniques that work well in introductory biological sciences courses, sharing the history and rationale for the techniques. We will also review different publication outlets for your work and a workflow that moves your ideas from lightbulb moment to national recognition of your teaching innovations as published works.
