Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming education, yet guidance on using it to foster critical thinking in STEM education is limited. This interactive roundtable session explores how AI can support active knowledge construction rather than passive information retrieval. Examples of AI-infused learning activities will be shared, including what-if modeling, concept mapping, and error analysis, that may promote higher-order thinking skills such as analysis, evaluation, and synthesis. Through hands-on activities and discussions, attendees will identify strategies for integrating AI as a mindtool into STEM instruction and leave with adaptable approaches that may encourage deeper learning and critical thinking.
